JOB DETAILS:

The Mining Superintendent is accountable for the leadership, coordination, and execution of open pit mining activities. The role ensures that production targets are met safely, efficiently, and in alignment with operational and strategic objectives. During the mine start-up phase, the position plays a critical role in establishing mining operations, implementing systems and processes, and supporting the mobilization of contractors and equipment. The incumbent is required to apply practical leadership, technical expertise, and prior start-up experience to build and stabilize early-stage operational capability.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Ensure all survey construction activities and procedures adhere to the applicable mining regulations.
• Ensure completed Land Clearing Permits are in place prior to overseeing vegetation clearing and topsoil stripping.
• Model effective leadership to manage a diverse local and national workforce.
• Lead the establishment and implementation of mining systems, operating procedures, and site standards during the construction, commissioning, and ramp-up phases.

Eligibility Requirements:

• Degree or diploma in Mining Engineering (or equivalent).
• 7 years’ experience in open pit mining operations, with at least 3 years in a senior leadership or supervisory role.
