Role Purpose

This position is responsible for managing credit operations and customer financing in Tanzania. The primary goals include ensuring policy compliance, mitigating financial risk, driving accounts receivable collections, and supporting regional commercial operations.

Key Responsibilities

Risk Management: Drive credit risk management through limit analysis and governance.

Collection Activities: Support collections to achieve business goals, maximize sales growth, and hit cash flow targets.

Policy Education: Train the sales organization on credit policies to ensure compliance throughout the sales process.

Systems & Controls: Implement credit management processes in automated systems for continuous monitoring and revision of customer profiles.

Financial Reporting: Support budgeting and forecasting, and provide periodic reports for financial reporting and exposure reviews.

Overdue Recovery: Trigger recovery actions for overdue accounts in collaboration with other departments.

Commercial Support: Act as the point of contact for order-to-cash teams to ensure efficient sales processes, including managing incentives and channel costs.

Core Duties

Compliance: Ensure all activities comply with credit policy and relevant legislation.

Debtor Control: Manage debtor information, collections, general ledger entries, and reporting.

Vetting & Limits: Perform credit vetting for new and existing accounts and set appropriate limits in SAP.

Portfolio Maintenance: Prepare and send monthly customer statements and reconcile account queries.

Delinquency Management: Block overdue accounts, send Acknowledgements of Debt (AOD), and recommend accounts for legal recovery or write-offs.

Account Monitoring: Follow up on payments and monitor accounts for irregularities or delayed payments.

Operational Tasks: Handle order releases and facilitate new account openings and database maintenance.

Qualifications and Experience

Education: Undergraduate degree in Business or Economics.

Professional Certification: Accounting or finance professional qualifications are preferred.

Experience: A minimum of 3 years of experience in credit management.

Language: Proficiency in English is required.
