Background
Tanza Education is hiring a Digital Education Supervisor to support the implementation and long-term success of the MsingiTek program in selected districts. The role focuses on school oversight, community engagement, equipment monitoring, data reporting, teacher support, and strengthening ownership among school and government stakeholders.

MsingiTek is a tablet-based program that provides supplementary learning for students in Standards 1, 2, and 3. By putting Imagine Worldwide’s tablets and onebillion’s software in children’s hands, the program creates a dedicated moment of individual learning.

Role Purpose and Goals
As a MsingiTek Digital Education Supervisor, the successful candidate will oversee up to 10 schools and support the long-term success of the program.
The supervisor will ensure that:
- All hardware is functional.
- Program sessions run smoothly and according to schedule.
- The average learner in their portfolio receives at least 150 minutes of quality learning each week.
- Headteachers and teachers strengthen ownership and capacity to sustain and improve the program.
- Teacher and learner attendance and enrollment improve.
- Equipment remains functional and properly managed.
- Time on task remains stable or improves.
- Ownership of the program successfully transitions to schools, ensuring lasting impact beyond direct support.

Equipment And Infrastructure
Support the installation and completion of hardware, software, infrastructure, and security improvements in all assigned schools by the program launch date.
Equipment Monitoring
- Routinely track the functionality of all equipment during every school visit.
- Identify equipment issues early.
- Report issues through the correct channels.
- Support quick resolution of equipment problems to minimize disruptions to learning.
- Ensure all sessions continue running smoothly.
Inventory And Tablet Scanning
- Perform monthly inventory and stock counts together with Head Teachers.
- Conduct tablet scanning to ensure accurate reporting of all assets and equipment.
Teacher Training
- Host sessions to onboard schools into the program.
- Provide additional training sessions on a needs basis.
- Identify best practices for equipment and session management.
- Foster ownership of practices that minimize breakage and maximize quality learning.
- Support schools to improve weekly learning minutes per child.
Community Sensitization
- Conduct initial and ongoing sensitization efforts to engage and educate the community about the program.
- Foster community support for long-term sustainability.
- Promote equipment ownership and care.
- Encourage student attendance.
Data Reporting
- Guarantee that 100% of tablets report data accurately and on time.
- Quickly flag and resolve any issues with non-reporting tablets.
- Maintain data integrity across assigned schools.
Data Usage
- Use collected data to deliver actionable feedback to stakeholders during meetings.
- Teach and empower stakeholders to value and use data effectively.
- Support stakeholders to use data independently for decision-making and program improvement.
School Oversight
- Visit each school every week during the first few months of implementation.
- After stabilization, visit each school at least once every two weeks.
- Increase school visits if performance lags.
- Provide remote follow-ups when necessary to address challenges or celebrate successes.
Problem Solving
- Involve ward counterparts, including Ward Education Officers, to address challenges.
- Engage district officials where appropriate.
- Promote joint problem-solving and shared ownership.
Government Engagement
- Support the MsingiTek annual Government Engagement calendar.
- Plan and coordinate school-level and ward-level engagements.
- Share data with stakeholders.
- Prepare school leaders to confidently present, interpret, and own their results and support needs.
Required Qualifications And Experience
Candidates should have the following qualifications and experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Community Development, Education, or a related field.
- At least 1 year of experience in community engagement and adult behaviour change initiatives.
- Experience working in rural communities.
- Familiarity with rural community dynamics.
- Experience working collaboratively with government counterparts at ward or district level.
- Experience implementing or supporting digital or technology-based programs.
- Experience engaging with teachers and headteachers.
- Experience with data and MEAL processes.
