Role Purpose:

To assess the creditworthiness of corporate and commercial borrowers, conduct rigorous financial analysis, and recommend credit facilities within the bank’s risk appetite. The role ensures compliance with regulatory and internal credit policies while minimizing Non-Performing Loans (NPLs).

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Analysis: Analyze financial statements (Balance Sheet, P&L, Cash Flow) to determine repayment capacity, leverage, and liquidity. Prepare financial spreads and ratio analysis.

Credit Assessment: Evaluate credit applications for working capital (OD, CC), term loans, trade finance (LCs/BGs), and project finance.

Risk Rating: Assign internal credit risk ratings (e.g., 1-10 scale) based on quantitative and qualitative factors (industry outlook, management quality, geopolitical risks).

Report Writing: Prepare detailed Credit Approval Memorandums (CAMs) highlighting key risks, mitigants, covenants, and recommended structures.

Portfolio Monitoring: Track covenants, financial covenants compliance, and early warning indicators. Conduct annual reviews.

Compliance: Ensure adherence to Basel III, local central bank regulations, Anti-Money Laundering (AML) policies, and Know Your Customer (KYC) requirements.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics. MBA or CFA candidacy preferred.
  • 3–5 years in credit analysis, corporate banking, or auditing.
  • Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills.

Competencies:

  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Understanding of secured vs. unsecured lending.
  • Ability to articulate risk decisions under pressure.
