Job Purpose:

The successful candidate will be responsible to operate gantry crane machines.

Specific Job Responsibilities:

• Stacking and De-staking of 1ton sugar bags as per procedure.
• ensure Checking looseness on foundation bolts, Rail way and report deviations to avoid Loads falling from height and report deviation to Foreman
• Check the chain hook and pulley of the crane if they are in good condition and report deviations to Foreman.
• Check lubrication and condition of the hoisting rope and report deviations to Foreman.
• Responsible for inspecting the Machine through Climb up the ladder into the driving cabin of the crane and report any damage or deviation observed.
• Assist in breakdown or maintenance work as assigned.
• Ensure a proper handing over at the end of the shift.
• Switch the crane off and ensure that the hook is in a safe position at end of shift.
• Performs all tasks according to Kilombero Sugar’s Quality, Safety, Health and Environment policies and procedures.
• If any situation that is non- conforming to required standards, unsafe, or unhealthy, or anything that threatens to impact on the environment comes to your attention, report this to your superior using the existing incident report system.
• Ensures that all operations are carried out as per the ISO 9001/ISO 22000 to achieve quality and food safety standards.
• Carries out any other requested duties relating to the plant.

Job Requirements:

• Form IV and Above
• Technical certificate in Fitter/mechanical or similar related.
• 1+year of working experience in crane operations
• Experience working in warehousing or logistics add value.
• Forklift driver certificate/licence add value.
• Able to read, write and understand SOPs.
• Safety Knowledge
• Lifting equipment and operations knowledge
• Effective communication.
• Ability to supervise and organize.
• Hard worker.
• Work independently.
