POSITION: ACCOUNTANT (1 POST)
LOCATION: Arusha Tanzania —
JOB SUMMARY.
Responsible for preparing asset, liability, and capital account entries by compiling and analyzing financial information. Maintains accurate financial records, documents transactions, and supports effective financial management and internal control systems within the organization.
POSITION DESCRIPTION
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all financial transactions.
- Record, classify, and summarize financial transactions in accordance with accepted accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
- Assist management in the preparation, compilation, and control of company budgets.
- Provide advice on improvements to financial management systems and internal control procedures.
- Analyze, verify, and process staff retirement and reimbursement documents into the accounting system.
- Maintain proper bookkeeping records and organize financial documentation.
- Assist in the preparation and filing of statutory returns and other regulatory reports.
- Perform reconciliation of bank accounts, cash books, and general ledger accounts.
- Support financial reporting and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATION
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent qualification.
- CPA qualification will be an added advantage.
- Minimum of 1–2 years of experience in Finance and Accounting.
- Knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
- Understanding of tax laws and regulations.
- Proficiency in computer systems and accounting applications, particularly QuickBooks.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and accuracy in financial reporting.
