Context & Environment

Working in dangerous site due to the nature of product being handled requires a high sense of commitment, consideration and evaluation of any operation to be carried out.

Risk analysis, prevention plan and method statement are required for the job to be carried out safely and effective.

Working Instructions and procedures work as guides to make the working environment favourable.

Providing key interfaces with Maintenance, Supply, Procurement and Commercial services.

Close coordination with:

Internally: Commercial Department, HSSE, Customer Service Department, Finance and Purchasing department, Depot Managers, Paris Head Office

Externally: Contractors, Engineering Consultants, Government institutions such W&M, EWURA, TBS, etc

Activities

HSSE

  • Ensure compliance with TotalEnergies’ Golden Rules, HSE standards, and Tanzanian regulations.
  • Oversee product quality control to meet Tanzania Bureau of Standards (TBS) specifications.
  • Review and approve contractor prevention plans and work permits prior to commencement of works.

Projects

  • Lead and manage projects across GT sites, including terminal upgrades and site improvements.
  • Prepare technical reports, drawings, tenders, and detailed bidding documents (RFPs) in line with TotalEnergies standards.
  • Supervise engineering operations, ensuring adherence to HSEQ and technical norms.
  • Conduct site visits for prospects and existing GT sites, providing reports and recommendations.
  • Monitor project performance across budget, quality, and timelines, ensuring delivery within approved parameters.
  • Coordinate with commercial teams to align on projects and customer prospects.
  • Oversee tender evaluations, negotiations, and contractual payment follow‑ups with Finance.
  • Present investment budgets, produce weekly and monthly activity reports, and ensure timely project completion.

Maintenance

  • Plan and execute routine and corrective maintenance for GT equipment and facilities.
  • Manage maintenance contracts, work orders, and service provider performance.
  • Diagnose faults, oversee urgent repairs, and ensure compliance with regulatory calibration requirements.
  • Conduct inspections, draft status reports, and recommend improvements for assets and layouts.
  • Monitor and control maintenance costs, producing weekly and monthly performance reports (response time, MTBF, cost per liter).
  • Present maintenance budgets and oversee contractor performance evaluations.

Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor of science degree in Engineering
  • At least one (3) years experience in handling engineering duties
  • Project Management skills
  • Capable of autonomy (analysis, proactive, negotiation skills, decision making, communication)
  • Strictly committed to health, safety, environment and quality,
  • Graduate Engineer (Registered with Engineers Registration Board (ERB).
  • AutoCAD is highly desirable.
  • Excellent computer skills in Microsoft Suite.
