Position Summary
Coretax Africa is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Tax Manager to join our Tax & Transfer Pricing Services team. The successful candidates will be responsible for leading and delivering tax engagements in compliance with applicable tax legislation and the firm's methodologies. The role requires strong technical expertise, sound professional judgment, and the ability to manage multiple client engagements while maintaining the highest standards of quality, efficiency, and client service.
The Tax Manager will also play a key role in supervising and coaching senior and junior team members, supporting client relationship management, contributing to business development initiatives, and promoting a collaborative, high-performing culture aligned with the firm's values and professional standards.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Lead and manage tax engagements, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality services in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, and firm methodologies.
- Review, and oversee engagement deliverables, ensuring they meet Management's quality expectations.
- Lead business proposal review, preparation and ensure timely submission of proposals to prospective clients.
- Manage client billing cycle and collection process.
- Identify, assess, and escalate engagement risks to management while ensuring appropriate mitigation measures are implemented.
- Maintain complete and accurate engagement documentation on the firm's approved storage systems.
- Manage multiple client engagements simultaneously while ensuring the team is fully assigned work in a balanced manner.
- Stay abreast of developments in Tanzanian tax legislation, transfer pricing regulations, and international best practices.
- Build and maintain strong, long-term client relationships by providing practical, high-quality tax advisory services.
- Liaise effectively with clients, regulatory authorities, and other stakeholders while maintaining strict confidentiality and compliance with data protection requirements.
- Lead, supervise, coach, and mentor seniors and associates by providing timely guidance, feedback, and technical support.
- Support business development initiatives and represent Coretax Africa at client meetings, professional forums, and industry events.
Qualification and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, Economics, Actuarial Science, Taxation, or a related field from a reputable university.
- Professional qualifications such as CPA (T), ACCA, ADIT, or an equivalent certification will be an added advantage.
- Minimum of 6-10 years of relevant experience in tax advisory, tax compliance, and transfer pricing, preferably within a professional services or consulting environment.
- Strong knowledge of Tanzanian tax legislation, transfer pricing regulations, and international tax principles.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Willingness to travel to client sites as needed.
