Shift Engineer

Department: Engineering

Reports To: Chief Engineer / Engineering Manager

Job Purpose

Supervise engineering operations during assigned shifts to ensure all mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and utility systems operate safely and efficiently while maintaining guest comfort and uninterrupted hotel operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise engineering operations during assigned shifts.
• Monitor mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and utility systems.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies.
• Coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance activities.
• Supervise engineering technicians and contractors.
• Maintain engineering logs and shift reports.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Report major equipment failures to the Chief Engineer.
• Support energy conservation initiatives.
• Ensure all maintenance work complies with hotel standards.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 3 years' engineering experience in a hotel or commercial property.
• Supervisory experience preferred.
