Watoto Salama Foundation (WSF)

Responsibilities or duties

Program Implementation: Oversee the day-to-day implementation of education activities (e.g., teacher training, distribution of learning materials, school rehabilitation) in line with the project work plan.

Quality Assurance: Ensure that educational interventions adhere to national curricula and international best practices (e.g., Save the Children, UNICEF standards).

Capacity Building: Facilitate training for teachers, School Management Committees (SMCs), and parent-teacher associations on pedagogy, child-centered learning, and school safety.

Monitoring & Reporting: Conduct regular field visits to monitor activity progress, collect data on learning outcomes, and draft progress reports (weekly/monthly/quarterly).

Stakeholder Coordination: Liaise with the Ministry of Education, local authorities, and community leaders to ensure buy-in and sustainability of project interventions.

Inclusion: Ensure that education activities are accessible to children with disabilities and marginalized groups.

Qualifications or requirements

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Education, Social Sciences, Development Studies, or a related field. A Master’s degree is an advantage.

Skills: Strong understanding of formal and non-formal education systems, excellent facilitation skills, and proficiency in MS Office.

Competencies: Cultural sensitivity, problem-solving, and the ability to work in remote areas.

Experience needed

Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in education project implementation, preferably in emergency or development contexts.
