Job Purpose:
The Project Manager will be responsible for leading and overseeing bank digitization, operational efficiency, Robotic Process Automation (RPA), and business process re-engineering initiatives. The role will drive the implementation of digital and paperless solutions that streamline operations, improve customer experience, strengthen process controls, and reduce reliance on manual and paper-based activities.
Responsible for ensuring the Bank's designated projects are delivered within approved timelines, budget, scope, quality standards, and acceptance criteria
Main Responsibilities:
Project Initiation and Planning
Lead the initiation and planning of assigned digitization, operational efficiency, Robotic Process Automation (RPA), workflow automation, and process re-engineering implementation projects.
Define project scope, objectives, deliverables, implementation approach, timelines, resources, assumptions, dependencies, risks, and success criteria in consultation with business and technology stakeholders.
Project Execution and Delivery Management
Manage end-to-end execution of approved implementation projects, ensuring delivery within agreed scope, timelines, budget, quality standards, controls, and acceptance criteria.
Coordinate project activities across business units, operations, technology, risk, compliance, finance, procurement, vendors, consultants, and other delivery partners.
Track project progress against approved plans, resolve delivery bottlenecks, escalate issues requiring management decisions, and ensure timely completion of milestones and deliverables.
Requirements, Process and Solution Coordination
Facilitate requirements gathering, process mapping, gap analysis, solution design reviews, and validation sessions to ensure the implementation addresses agreed business needs.
Governance, Reporting and Stakeholder Engagement
Establish and run effective project governance routines
Prepare timely and accurate project status reports
Risk, Compliance, Controls and Quality Management
Identify, assess, monitor, mitigate, and escalate project risks, issues, assumptions, and dependencies, ensuring clear ownership and timely closure.
Maintain quality control over project documentation, approvals, testing evidence, change records, training materials, go-live readiness documents, and handover packs.
Testing, Implementation Readiness and Go-Live Management
Coordinate test planning and execution, including System Integration Testing, User Acceptance Testing, operational readiness testing, pilot activities, defect tracking, retesting, and business sign-off.
Coordinate go-live activities, post-implementation support, issue resolution, stabilization, and transition of implemented solutions to business-as-usual support teams.
Change Management and Benefits Realization
Support change impact assessments, stakeholder communications, training coordination, user adoption activities, and transition planning for new digital processes and automation solutions.
Define, track, and report implementation benefits, including efficiency gains, reduced turnaround time, cost reduction, error reduction, improved controls, better service quality, and enhanced customer experience.
Vendor, Resource and Financial Coordination
Coordinate internal resources, vendors, and consultants to ensure assigned tasks, contracted deliverables, dependencies, service levels, and quality expectations are met.
Monitor project budgets, resource utilization, delivery constraints, and financial commitments, escalating variances and corrective actions where required.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Strong knowledge of project management principles, tools, governance practices, delivery methodologies, and project lifecycle management.
- Good understanding of banking operations, digital banking processes, operational efficiency initiatives, workflow automation, Robotic Process Automation (RPA), and business process re-engineering.
- Ability to define project scope, objectives, deliverables, milestones, dependencies, risks, resources, budgets, and implementation plans.
- Knowledge of testing coordination, including System Integration Testing, User Acceptance Testing, defect tracking, operational readiness, go-live planning, and post-implementation support.
- Good understanding of banking regulations, internal controls, operational risk, information security, data privacy, audit requirements, and compliance considerations for digital implementations.
- Strong stakeholder management, facilitation, negotiation, communication, presentation, and report writing skills.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, planning, prioritization, organizational, and multitasking skills, with ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing priorities.
- Ability to support change management, user adoption, training coordination, benefits tracking, lessons learned, and transition to business-as-usual support.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Information and Communication Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Project Management or a related field.
- Professional project management certification such as PMP, PRINCE2, AgilePM, Scrum, or an equivalent recognized certification is required
- Certification or formal training in business analysis, process improvement, Lean Six Sigma, change management, RPA, digital transformation, or workflow automation is an added advantage.
- Banking certification or professional training in banking operations, risk, compliance, or digital banking is an added advantage.
- At least four (4) years of practical experience managing medium to large implementation ICT projects, preferably within banking, financial services, operations, or a large corporate environment.
- Proven experience delivering digitization, operational efficiency, process automation, RPA, workflow automation, records digitization, or business process re-engineering initiatives.
- Experience coordinating project initiation, planning, execution, governance, reporting, testing, implementation readiness, go-live, stabilization, handover, and closure activities.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams, business owners, process owners, technology teams, risk, compliance, procurement, finance, vendors, consultants, and senior stakeholders.
- Experience managing project risks, issues, dependencies, change requests, budgets, quality assurance, documentation, benefits tracking, and post-implementation lessons learned.
