Position: Machine Operator

Department: Production / Operations

Reports To: Production Supervisor / Workshop Supervisor

Job Summary:

To operate, monitor, and perform basic maintenance on production machinery and vehicle systems to ensure efficient, safe, and continuous manufacturing operations. A focus on preventative care and adherence to standard operating procedures is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate assigned machinery (e.g., CNC, assembly lines, vehicle systems) safely and efficiently according to SOPs.
• Perform routine inspections, lubrication, and basic troubleshooting of machines.
• Monitor machine performance and product output for quality and consistency.
• Report any machine malfunctions, defects, or safety hazards to the supervisor immediately.
• Assist skilled technicians with repairs and overhauls as needed.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area (5S principles).
• Complete production logs and reports accurately.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Mandatory: VETA Certificate in Fitter Mechanics and/or Motor Vehicle Mechanics.
• Basic understanding of mechanical systems and tools.
• Ability to read basic technical manuals or diagrams is an advantage.
• Prior experience in a manufacturing or automotive environment preferred.
• Strong focus on safety and quality.
