We are seeking a skilled and motivated Wireless Network Engineer to join our technical team in Dar es Salaam.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and maintain wireless broadband and enterprise network infrastructure.
- Deploy and troubleshoot point-to-point (PtP), point-to-multipoint (PtMP), and Wi-Fi network solutions.
- Configure and manage wireless equipment, routers, switches, and customer premises equipment (CPE).
- Perform wireless site surveys, link planning, and signal optimisation.
- Monitor network performance and proactively resolve connectivity issues.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot wireless, LAN, and WAN network faults.
- Ensure high network availability and service quality in accordance with SLAs.
- Coordinate with field technicians during installations and maintenance activities.
- Prepare technical documentation, network diagrams, and deployment reports.
- Assist in planning network expansions and infrastructure upgrades.
- Provide technical support to enterprise and business customers when required.
- Follow industry best practices for network security, reliability, and performance.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Telecommunications, Electronics, or a related field.
- 2–3 years of hands-on experience in wireless networking or ISP operations.
- Experience configuring and managing wireless technologies such as PtP, PtMP, and enterprise Wi-Fi.
- Good knowledge of TCP/IP, VLANs, Routing, Switching, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, and network security.
- Experience with wireless vendors such as MikroTik, Ubiquiti, Cambium, Mimosa, Ruijie, Cisco, or similar platforms is an advantage.
- Familiarity with fibre connectivity, Ethernet technologies, and structured cabling.
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Valid driving licence is an added advantage.
Preferred Certifications
- MikroTik MTCNA/MTCRE
- Ubiquiti UEWA/UBWA
- Cisco CCNA
- Cambium Certified or equivalent wireless certifications
- Any relevant networking or wireless certification
