Job Purpose:

To lead and manage surveying operations for construction, engineering, or land development projects. The Senior Surveyor is responsible for ensuring that all survey data is accurate, compliant with regulations, and readily available for project planning and execution. This role involves supervising survey teams and utilizing advanced surveying technology.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Surveying: Plan, organize, and direct survey work to determine exact positions, measurements, and boundaries of sites.

Data Management: Collect and analyze survey data using GPS, Total Stations, and 3D scanners; process data into CAD/ GIS software for mapping and modeling.

Boundary Determination: Establish and verify property lines, easements, and rights-of-way; prepare legal descriptions of tracts of land.

Construction Support: Provide staking and layout services for construction crews (e.g., roads, buildings, pipelines) to ensure structures are built in the correct locations.

Quality Assurance: Review survey plans and calculations for accuracy and compliance with safety standards and regulatory requirements.

Supervision: Lead, train, and mentor a team of junior surveyors and survey assistants.

Reporting: Prepare detailed survey reports, plats, and maps for clients, engineers, and government bodies.

Equipment Maintenance: Ensure all surveying equipment is calibrated, maintained, and properly inventoried.

Qualifications & Experience:

Education: Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Geomatics, Land Surveying, or Civil Engineering.

Certification: Registration with the relevant professional surveying body (e.g., ISK, RICS) is highly preferred.

Experience: Minimum of 6-8 years of experience in land/engineering surveying, with at least 3 years in a senior capacity.

Technical Skills: Expert knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D, GIS software, and Total Station/GPS operations.
