Job Purpose:

To protect the organization’s premises, assets, personnel, and information from theft, vandalism, fire, and other safety hazards. The Security Officer ensures a safe and secure environment through proactive patrol, access control, and emergency response.

Key Responsibilities:

• Surveillance: Monitor CCTV feeds, alarm systems, and radio communications to detect and report security breaches.
• Patrolling: Conduct routine foot patrols and vehicle checks of the facility to ensure all areas are secure, particularly high-risk zones.
• Access Control: Manage entry and exit points; verify the identity of employees, visitors, and contractors; issue visitor badges and maintain a logbook.
• Incident Response: Respond immediately to emergencies (fire, accidents, threats) and security incidents; take appropriate action and report to the supervisor.
• Reporting: Complete daily security reports and incident logs detailing observations and occurrences during shifts.
• Customer Service: Provide courteous assistance to employees and visitors, directing them to appropriate areas.
• Traffic Management: Control vehicle parking and traffic flow within the compound.
• Equipment Checks: Ensure all security equipment (flashlights, radios, fire extinguishers) is in good working order.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Education: Minimum KCSE Certificate or equivalent; Diploma in Security Management is a plus.
• Certification: Must have a valid certificate of good conduct; Basic First Aid & Fire Fighting training certification is mandatory.
• Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in corporate or industrial security (military/police background is an advantage).
• Physical Fitness: Must be physically fit to stand, walk, and run for extended periods.
