Position: Safety, Health & Environment (SHE) Inspector

Reports To: SHE Manager

Location: Tanzania | Full-Time

Job Purpose

Provide hands-on support in executing Simba Cement’s Safety, Health, and Environmental (SHE) programs, maintaining ISO and NOSA compliance, conducting site inspections, and enforcing statutory regulations to ensure a zero-harm workplace.

Key Responsibilities

Plant Inspections & Housekeeping: Conduct daily plant walk-throughs, audit work permits, enforce housekeeping standards, and identify unsafe acts/conditions.

Compliance & Standards: Implement NOSA and ISO systems (ISO 9001, ISO 14001), ensure strict OSHA compliance, and stay updated on national environmental legislation.

Incident Management & Audits: Investigate SHE incidents, track non-conformances to resolution, participate in emergency drills, and source data for monthly SHE reporting.

Training & Promotion: Lead daily SHE toolbox talks, promote safety awareness across departments, and assist in designing safety training programs.

Minimum Qualifications & Skills

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Disaster/Safety Management, Risk Management, or related Engineering fields.

Certifications: Certification in NEBOSH, SAMTRAC, NOSHC, or NOSA is required.

Experience: Minimum of 3 years of hands-on SHE experience, preferably in heavy manufacturing or industrial settings.

Proven understanding of OSHA requirements, ISO 9001/14001 EMS, Job Hazard Analysis (JHA), and work permit systems.

Strong skills in report writing, record management, Microsoft 365, and site inspection auditing.

Proactive mindset, high ethical standards, and ability to thrive under high work pressure.
