Background
Matongo Gold Mine Limited (MGM) is seeking to recruit a Maintenance Inspector to join our dedicated team in the Mara Region, Tanzania. Reporting to the Reliability Engineer, the Maintenance Inspector will be responsible for conducting routine inspections of mining equipment, machinery, and related infrastructure to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operations.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Ensure inspection compliance using checklists and inspection tools.
- Perform first-level inspections (walk-by inspections) to record equipment conditions.
- Conduct condition-based monitoring (CBM), including vibration measurement, wear analysis, and shaft alignment.
- Monitor plant equipment by collecting and analyzing vibration data.
- Prepare inspection reports and maintain accurate records of daily plant visits.
Skills Required
- Strong mechanical diagnostic skills.
- Ability to use inspection tools and CBM techniques effectively.
- Excellent report writing and documentation skills.
- High attention to detail and commitment to safety compliance.
- Effective teamwork and communication with engineers, planners, and technicians.
Qualifications and Experience
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
- At least 2 years of working experience in maintenance inspection.
- Experience in the mining industry is an added advantage.
- Certifications such as CAT I Vibration Analysis and Infrared Thermography Level 1 are desirable.
