Role overview

The Head of Hospitality Department (HOD) will oversee all hospitality operations, ensuring world-class guest experiences and operational excellence across ATARA hotels and residences.

Key responsibilities

  • Manage daily hotel operations, including front office, housekeeping, food and beverage (F&B), and guest services.
  • Drive occupancy growth and maximize revenue streams, including rooms, F&B, spa, gym and events.
  • Implement quality assurance and service standards.
  • Supervise and mentor hospitality staff.
  • Collaborate with the General Manager on expansion and branding initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with hospitality regulations and ATARA’s premium standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Commerce in Tourism and Hospitality Management, Bachelor of Science in Tourism and Hospitality Management, or a related field.
  • At least five years of leadership experience in hotel or resort management.
  • Strong organizational and people management skills.
  • Proven track record in guest satisfaction and occupancy growth.
  • Knowledge of the Tanzanian hospitality market is preferred.
  • Fluency in English.
