Job Summary:

The Geologist is responsible for conducting field mapping, core logging, and geological data analysis to identify and delineate mineral resources. This role involves collecting surface and subsurface samples, interpreting geological structures, and ensuring data integrity to support efficient and safe mining or exploration operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Data Collection & Analysis:

• Conduct geological mapping, soil sampling, and trenching.
• Log diamond drill core and reverse circulation (RC) chips accurately, recording lithology, structure, mineralization, and alteration.
• Collect, label, and dispatch samples for assaying; monitor QA/QC procedures.
• Update and maintain geological databases and spreadsheets.

Interpretation & Modeling:

• Compile geological data to produce cross-sections, maps, and 3D models using specialized software (e.g., Leapfrog, Surpac, Micromine).
• Interpret structural controls of mineralization and assist in resource estimation.

Operational Support:

• Provide geological guidance to mining and drilling teams to optimize grade control and ore extraction.
• Monitor drilling progress and ensure adherence to safety and environmental standards.

Reporting:

• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly technical reports for management.
• Present findings and recommendations to project stakeholders.

Qualifications & Experience:

Education:

• Bachelor’s Degree (BSc) in Geology, Earth Sciences, or related field.

Experience:

• Minimum 3-5 years of experience in mineral exploration or production geology.

Skills:

• Proficiency in GIS and geological modeling software; strong analytical skills.

Certifications:

• Valid driver’s license; First Aid/CPR certification (preferred).
