The Finance Manager is responsible for planning, directing, and overseeing the organization's financial activities to ensure financial stability, compliance, and sustainable growth. The role includes budgeting, financial reporting, cash flow management, financial analysis, risk management, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and company policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement the organization's financial strategies, budgets, and forecasts.
- Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Monitor cash flow, financial performance, and budget utilization.
- Oversee accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger.
- Ensure compliance with financial policies, accounting standards, tax laws, and statutory requirements.
- Coordinate internal and external audits and implement audit recommendations.
- Analyze financial data and provide strategic recommendations to senior management.
- Manage financial risks and implement effective internal controls.
- Supervise and mentor finance and accounting staff.
- Review and approve financial transactions, payments, and expenditures.
- Prepare tax returns and ensure timely statutory payments.
- Support business planning, investment decisions, and organizational growth initiatives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Professional certification such as CPA, ACCA, CFA, or CIMA is highly preferred.
- Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration (MBA) is an added advantage.
- Minimum of 3–5 years of relevant experience in finance or accounting, including supervisory experience.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, Tally, SAP, or ERP systems).
- Strong knowledge of financial reporting standards, taxation, and financial regulations.
