ALAF Limited Tanzania is seeking qualified and experienced professionals to join its technical team as an Electrical Technician. This exciting opportunity is based in Dar es Salaam and is ideal for individuals with strong technical expertise in industrial electrical systems, instrumentation, and maintenance within a manufacturing environment.
The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of the manufacturing plant by installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems and machinery. This position offers an excellent opportunity to work with a reputable manufacturing company committed to operational excellence, safety, and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems and machinery within the manufacturing plant.
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical equipment, motors, panels, and control systems.
- Diagnose electrical faults and help minimize production downtime.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and company procedures.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and prepare maintenance reports.
- Support production teams during equipment breakdowns and plant upgrade activities.
- Participate in continuous improvement and energy efficiency initiatives.
- Inspect and test electrical and instrumentation systems to ensure optimal performance.
- Ensure all maintenance activities are carried out according to established procedures and safety regulations.
Qualifications
- Diploma or Certificate in Instrumentation Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems, motors, PLC basics, control panels, and instrumentation systems, including sensors, transmitters, and control devices.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical and instrumentation diagrams and schematics.
- Good understanding of workplace safety practices and electrical/instrumentation regulations.
- Ability to work independently and on shift schedules.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
