The company is seeking a Digital Marketing Specialist based in Dar es Salaam. Exceptional candidates already based in Zanzibar will also be considered.

Work authorization

Role overview

The Digital Marketing Specialist will plan, execute and optimize marketing campaigns across various digital channels, including search engines, social media, email and display advertising. These campaigns will support brand awareness, lead generation and customer acquisition.

The position requires a combination of creative thinking and data-driven decision-making. The successful candidate will continuously test and refine campaigns to improve return on advertising spend and conversion rates.

The role also requires proficiency across multiple marketing platforms, strong analytical skills for interpreting campaign data and the ability to adapt strategies to evolving algorithms and consumer behaviour. The position involves both creative and analytical responsibilities.

Key duties and responsibilities

The Digital Marketing Specialist will be responsible for:

  • Analysing customer preferences, business trends and competitors’ marketing strategies.
  • Developing online marketing campaigns and strategies to reach the target audience.
  • Designing visual elements for marketing campaigns.
  • Writing copy for:
    • Social media posts
    • Online advertisements
    • Marketing emails
    • Blog posts
    • Websites
  • Capturing and editing videos for marketing campaigns.
  • Optimizing marketing materials for search engines and social media algorithms.
  • Managing the company website.
  • Monitoring trends in social media and digital marketing.
  • Using data analytics to track progress and refine marketing materials.

Qualifications and skills

Applicants should possess the following qualifications, experience and skills:

  • A formal qualification in Marketing, Communications, Business or a related field would be an advantage but is not essential.
  • Two to four years of experience in digital marketing, with demonstrated results across paid and organic channels.
  • A proven record of managing marketing budgets and achieving measurable return on investment improvements.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to translate campaign data into actionable optimization strategies.
  • Excellent written communication skills for creating compelling advertising copy and marketing content.
  • Written and spoken fluency in Swahili and English.
