Job Profile

The successful candidate will be responsible to fabricate structural steel items and their associated components also Welding out components as it supposed and when required.

Specific Job Responsibilities:

• Ensure that all work completed in accordance with CSF Safety Policy and relevant Safe Work Method Statements.
• Perform assigned duties in a timely and safe manner.
• Read drawings, specifications, follow work orders to determine the product or job instructions.
• Ensure that all work is performed as per fabrication drawings and current work schedules.
• Ensure that all work is carried out to quality and specification requirements and self-check that the work prior to issuing to QA checkers.
• Follow instructions and directions of the Workshop Foreman / Production Foreman / Site Supervisor.
• Always keep work environment clean and tidy. Sweep up steel offcuts and swarf as necessary.
• General boiler making duties including fabrication, planning, grinding, cutting, welding (FCAW, MMAW),MIG, Plasma bending , polishing, heating, straightening and cleaning of steel as required.
• Understand craft specs and cut sheets, craft spec procedures, and recommendations Able to locate piece marks for correct views and know how to pick out different elevations, Being able to know the correct installation based on the orientation
• To move workstation as and when instructed.
• Perform work in heavy industrial setting with exposure to heat, cold, humidity, industrial odours, fumes, gasses, chemicals, smoke, dust, noise, pneumatic tools and working with moving machinery.
• Assist with training and supervision of apprentices.
• Participate in the development of a safe and healthy workplace.
• Comply with instructions given for their own safety and health and that of others, in adhering to safe work procedures.
• Report all safety incidents on info exchange\near miss group
• Ensure that adequate personal protective equipment (PPE) is worn as required by the position and CSF policies and procedures. Co-operate with management in its fulfilment of its legislative obligations.
• To report any injury, hazard or illness immediately, where practical to their supervisor.

Must have skills

• Ability to read and comprehend welding symbols.
• Understanding of Welding procedures.
• Ability to read and comprehend workshop drawings and understand welding symbols.

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

• Trade Test qualified boilermaker (Certificate III or II Engineering Fabrication).
• Experience in fabricating and welding structural steel used in building construction.
• At least three years’ experience in advanced welding and fabrications.
• Demonstrated high level of written and oral communication skills so as to be able to liaise with internal and external customers from diverse trade and professional backgrounds, with a commitment to achieving a high standard of customer satisfaction.
• Self-motivated.
• Reliability, trustworthiness and honesty.
• Job planning ability.
• Work autonomously and meet deadlines set by workload.
