The Key Purpose of this role is to implement, manage and execute asset care routines for the generation of Quality results, to optimize assurance equipment reliability and availability for the value.
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
Asset Care & Equipment Reliability
- Implement and execute asset care routines to ensure optimal performance of quality assurance instrumentation.
- Maintain and improve reliability, availability, and performance of assurance equipment.
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on instrumentation systems.
- Identify risks to equipment performance and proactively address potential failures.
- Ensure calibration and validation of instruments meet quality standards.
Quality Assurance & Process Control
- Drive Quality Source ownership to ensure consistent product quality.
- Understand and monitor process inputs and outputs to maintain control of quality variables.
- Apply and enforce Quality Focused Requirements (QFRs) and reaction plans.
- Support production teams in troubleshooting quality deviations.
- Ensure compliance with internal quality standards and regulatory requirements.
Problem Solving & Continuous Improvement
- Conduct root cause analysis using 5 Whys methodology and problem-solving tools.
- Populate and manage problem-solving tools (e.g., Problem Terminator).
- Initiate and execute AB reports for performance and deviation analysis.
- Evaluate effectiveness of corrective actions and sustain improvements.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives aligned with VPO principles.
Project & Systems Management
- Support and execute CAPEX projects related to instrumentation and quality systems.
- Contribute to installation, commissioning, and optimization of new equipment.
- Utilize digital tools and VPO tools to improve monitoring and reporting.
- Ensure proper documentation and knowledge transfer of new systems.
Training & Capability Development
- Train frontline employees (FLE) on QFRs, reaction plans, and equipment usage.
- Support development of autonomous teams through technical coaching.
- Complete required onboarding and technical competency programs.
- Maintain 100% compliance with SKAP (Skills Knowledge & Application Program).
Operational Excellence (VPO Alignment)
- Apply VPO (Voyager Plant Optimization) principles in daily operations.
- Participate in autonomous team structures to drive ownership and performance.
- Use structured problem-solving and performance tracking tools.
- Support achievement of plant performance targets.
Performance & KPI Accountability
- Drive improvements in equipment reliability.
- Deliver against Brewery/Business Wide Controls (BWC) targets.
- Monitor and report on instrumentation performance metrics.
- Ensure adherence to safety, quality, and operational KPIs.
Compliance & Safety
- Ensure all work complies with safety, health, and environmental standards.
- Follow company procedures and regulatory requirements for instrumentation systems.
- Maintain safe working practices when handling electrical and instrumentation equipment.
Collaboration & Communication
- Work closely with production, engineering, and quality teams.
- Communicate equipment status, risks, and improvement opportunities effectively.
- Provide technical input during audits, inspections, and reviews.
Key Attributes and Competencies:
- Completion of Workday 90-day onboarding modules
- Strong understanding of Instrumentation Technician SKAP requirements (100% completion)
- Proficiency in digital tools and VPO systems
- Ability to apply ATO (Advanced Technical Operator) levels 1–5 competencies
- Understanding of process inputs and outputs within a manufacturing environment
- Ability to understand and apply QFRs (Quality Focused Requirements)
- Problem solving and analytical thinking
Minimum Requirements:
- N3 Instrumentation/Electrical National Diploma in Electrical Engineering
- Minimum 1–2 years’ experience in instrumentation, electrical, or manufacturing environment
- Experience within FMCG
