PROCUREMENT OFFICER
Job Summary
The Procurement Officer will manage the sourcing and purchasing of materials, equipment, supplies, and services required for the company's manufacturing and operational activities while ensuring value for money and compliance with procurement procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and source reliable suppliers for required goods and services.
- Request and evaluate supplier quotations.
- Negotiate prices, terms, delivery schedules, and contracts.
- Prepare purchase orders and procurement documentation.
- Monitor supplier performance and delivery timelines.
- Maintain an up-to-date supplier database.
- Coordinate with production, stores, finance, and other departments regarding procurement requirements.
- Ensure purchased materials meet required specifications and quality standards.
- Monitor inventory and procurement requirements to avoid stock-outs.
- Maintain accurate procurement records and documentation.
- Support supplier evaluation and selection processes.
- Identify opportunities for cost savings and improved procurement efficiency.
- Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies and applicable requirements.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Procurement and Supplies, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Previous procurement experience, preferably in manufacturing.
- Strong negotiation and supplier-management skills.
- Good knowledge of procurement procedures and inventory management.
- Excellent organisational and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and procurement systems.
- High integrity and attention to detail.
