About the job

The Back Office Secretary is a crucial role in our company, ensuring smooth operations behind the scenes. The Candidate must be willing to relocate to Kisemvule.

Responsibilities

  • Administrative tasks: Handling daily administrative duties such as scheduling, correspondence, and data entry
  • Customer service: Providing support and assistance to customers, both in person and over the phone.
  • Data management: Maintaining and updating databases, including customer information.
  • Communication: Facilitating communication between departments and ensuring that information flows effectively.
  • Financial management: Assisting with accounting and financial reporting tasks.

Back Office Secretaries are expected to possess strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work well in a team. You should also have proficiency in both spoken and written English and Kiswahili, with additional language skills being an asset.

You will assist our Managing Director with his daily business and personal tasks. You will work closely with our heads of departments as well as our external consultants and service providers

Requirements

  • Diploma or Degree in economics, communication, marketing or any related field
  • Minimum three years’ experience in either agro-business (farmer groups, buyers, traders, transporters, input suppliers or processors) or trade and export related fields
  • Proven communication skills and ability to effectively communicate – verbal & written
  • Advanced social media and marketing skills
  • Car driving license
  • Advanced computer skills (MS-Office including MS-Excel)
  • Willingness to relocate
  • International experience
  • Industrial & Food production experience
  • Agri Processing experience
  • International trade experience
  • Organic certification experience
  • Food standards certification/ISO/BRC
  • SMETA audits
  • Dealing with governmental agencies/authorities and e-Government (immigration, kazi-portal (permits), BRELA, TRA, TIC, CBT)
