Background

HR World Limited, on behalf of our client, we are seeking to recruit a Mining Technical Communicator who will be responsible for providing technical support, managing product issue communication, and ensuring effective coordination between service operations, mining sites, and equipment manufacturers.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support to service operations, mining contracts, and customers.
  • Act as the liaison between internal support teams and equipment manufacturers on mining product issues.
  • Travel regularly to mining sites to support operations and ensure effective communication of technical issues.
  • Produce and distribute monthly product problem reports to senior management.
  • Act as the main point of contact for unresolved technical queries and provide solutions using technical systems and documentation.
  • Prepare detailed failure analysis reports and technical documentation.
  • Escalate unresolved issues through appropriate technical reporting systems and ensure follow-up.
  • Submit incident reports and maintain accurate tracking of technical issues.
  • Support warranty and goodwill negotiations related to product problems.
  • Monitor system submissions and follow up with relevant teams.
  • Provide system access support and technical tools where required.
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives within mining service operations.
  • Support rollout of improvement projects and document performance outcomes.
  • Coordinate rework programs, including tooling, materials, and execution with site teams.
  • Provide technical training to staff on reporting systems and best practices.
  • Support training departments with technical expertise and product knowledge.
  • Participate in new product and system implementation across service departments and sites.
  • Mentor and train new technical staff on systems, processes, and communication practices.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and customer site safety policies at all times.

Qualifications

  • Technical Degree or equivalent qualification in Mechanical, Automotive, or related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in mining service, technical support, or similar role.
  • Strong hands-on experience with mining equipment, troubleshooting, and component rebuilds.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical and hydraulic schematics and technical manuals.
  • Knowledge of technical systems and service platforms.
  • Strong understanding of vehicle electrics, hydraulics, and transmission systems.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and computer systems.
  • Experience in technical communication and team supervision is an added advantage.
