Job Purpose
Bravo Group is seeking an experienced, commercially minded, and technology-driven Human Resources Manager to lead the people, culture, and HR operations for one of its newly established dry ports.
Scope of the Role
The role involves leadership of workforce planning, recruitment, performance management, employee relations, training, compensation coordination, and compliance for ICD, CFS, and Bulk Terminal operations, supported by digital HR systems and workforce analytics in a 24/7 operational environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the overall Human Resources function across the ICD, CFS, and Bulk Terminal operations.
- Develop and implement the dry port’s organizational structure, manpower plan, job profiles, and staffing requirements.
- Lead recruitment, selection, onboarding, and deployment of employees to ensure the right people are placed in the right roles.
- Develop and manage performance management systems and KPIs aligned with operational and business objectives.
- Establish effective workforce planning, including shift structures, attendance, overtime, leave, and manpower utilization for a 24/7 operational environment.
- Develop and implement employee training, induction, leadership development, and continuous skills-development programmes.
- Build a strong culture of performance, accountability, discipline, integrity, safety, and customer service.
- Manage employee relations, disciplinary processes, grievances, and workplace conflicts in accordance with company policies and applicable labour laws.
- Ensure compliance with employment legislation, statutory requirements, HR policies, and employee documentation.
- Manage compensation, payroll inputs, employee benefits, and personnel records in coordination with Finance.
- Develop HR dashboards and regularly report on headcount, productivity, absenteeism, overtime, employee turnover, recruitment, training, and performance.
- Drive Bravo Group’s digital transformation agenda within HR, including: HRIS implementation, Digital employee records, Biometric attendance, Automated leave and approval workflows, Digital performance management, Real-time workforce analytics.
- Work closely with Operations to continuously assess manpower productivity and cost per operation, ensuring staffing levels are aligned with actual cargo volumes and business requirements.
- Develop succession plans and identify high-potential employees for future leadership and critical operational positions.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, Industrial Relations, or a related discipline.
- Professional HR qualification or relevant certification will be an added advantage.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in Human Resources, preferably in a managerial or senior HR role.
- Experience in ports, ICD/CFS, logistics, transport, warehousing, manufacturing, bulk terminals, or other high-volume/24-hour operational environments is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of Tanzanian labour laws, employee relations, performance management, and workforce planning.
- Experience with HRIS, digital HR systems, automation, and workforce analytics will be a strong advantage.
