Job Summary:
The HSE Officer will ensure full compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations throughout the lifecycle of the 20MW solar installation project. This role is responsible for safeguarding workers, assets, and the environment through effective preventive systems, training programs, and audits.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement comprehensive HSE plans, procedures, and emergency response strategies.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and enforce corrective and preventive measures.
- Lead incident investigations, prepare root cause reports, and monitor implementation of recommendations.
- Facilitate safety training, inductions, and toolbox talks to promote HSE awareness among all personnel.
- Monitor environmental compliance, including waste management, dust suppression, and spill control.
- Coordinate with subcontractors to ensure alignment with project HSE requirements.
- Maintain HSE documentation, permits, and audit readiness files.
- Liaise with regulatory authorities to ensure compliance with national safety and environmental laws.
- Analyze safety performance data and recommend proactive improvements.
- Promote a strong safety culture through example and continuous engagement across all levels of the workforce.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in large-scale construction projects.
- Familiarity with ISO 45001, ISO 14001, and local HSE regulations.
- Strong communication, reporting, and leadership skills.
- Must be a Tanzanian national.
