Overview

CNS Group is seeking a highly experienced, detail-oriented, and guest-focused Head Housekeeping Supervisor to join a luxury hotel team in Zanzibar. The role is responsible for overseeing all housekeeping operations to ensure that guest rooms, public areas, and all hotel facilities are maintained at the highest international standards of cleanliness, presentation, and comfort. The successful candidate will lead and supervise a multicultural housekeeping team, ensuring efficient daily operations, proper task allocation, and strict adherence to luxury hospitality standards. This position requires strong leadership skills, excellent organizational ability, and a deep understanding of housekeeping procedures in a high-end hotel environment. The ideal candidate must be proactive, quality-driven, and committed to delivering exceptional guest satisfaction through consistent service excellence and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Assign daily duties to housekeeping supervisors and room attendants while ensuring all guest rooms, corridors, and public areas are cleaned, inspected, and maintained according to luxury hotel standards.
  • Conduct detailed inspections of guest rooms and public areas using checklists to ensure cleanliness, proper stocking of amenities, and timely reporting of maintenance issues.
  • Oversee shift preparation including issuing keys, supplies, and task assignments while ensuring all staff are fully briefed and operationally ready.
  • Monitor VIP rooms, Do Not Disturb rooms, and special guest requirements, ensuring proper handling and communication with relevant departments.
  • Coordinate closely with Front Office and Maintenance teams to ensure smooth room turnover, efficient workflow, and quick resolution of guest-related issues.
  • Train, supervise, and motivate housekeeping staff to maintain high performance standards, professionalism, and excellent guest service delivery.

Qualifications

Applicants should hold a Diploma or vocational training in Hospitality, Housekeeping, or a related field. A minimum of 3–5 years of experience in housekeeping operations within a luxury hotel or resort environment is required, including supervisory or leadership experience. Candidates must have strong knowledge of housekeeping procedures, cleaning standards, inventory control, and chemical handling practices. Excellent communication skills in English are essential, along with strong leadership, problem-solving, and interpersonal abilities. Familiarity with hotel management systems such as Opera will be an added advantage. Candidates from hospitality training institutions are encouraged to apply. The ideal candidate should be highly organized, disciplined, and capable of managing a diverse team in a fast-paced luxury hospitality environment.
