Mkulazi Holding Company Limited (MHCL) is inviting qualified and experienced Tanzanians to apply for the position of Fitter Mechanics – Workshop. The successful candidate will report to the Supervisor Pump and Gearbox and will be responsible for installation, assembly, maintenance, and repair of mechanical equipment and components within the workshop environment.

The role requires practical mechanical fitting skills, equipment alignment expertise, and the ability to support maintenance activities for pumps, gearboxes, and related machinery. The selected candidate will ensure that mechanical systems are properly installed, maintained, and repaired in line with operational standards and safety procedures.

Responsibilities or duties

  • Installing, assembling, aligning, and fitting mechanical equipment, machinery, and components
  • Preparing spare parts required for planned maintenance activities
  • Replacing worn or defective machine parts using appropriate tools and techniques
  • Maintaining maintenance records, service reports, and documentation of spare parts usage
  • Ensuring compliance with occupational health, safety, and environmental procedures
  • Supporting workshop operations and assisting in mechanical maintenance tasks
  • Performing any other lawful duties assigned by the supervisor

Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills)

  • Form IV certificate
  • NTA Level III Certificate in Fitter Mechanics or equivalent qualification
  • Good knowledge of mechanical fitting, assembly, and alignment procedures
  • Ability to use mechanical tools safely and effectively
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
  • Ability to work in an industrial workshop environment under supervision

Experience needed

  • Minimum of three (3) years working experience in a machine shop or industrial maintenance environment

 

  • Installing, assembling, aligning, and fitting mechanical equipment, machinery, and components
  • Preparing spare parts required for planned maintenance activities
  • Replacing worn or defective machine parts using appropriate tools and techniques
  • Maintaining maintenance records, service reports, and documentation of spare parts usage
