About the job

To provide strategic financial leadership and administrative oversight by managing the company's financial operations, human resources administration, compliance, and internal support services while ensuring efficient resource utilization, sound financial management, and achievement of organizational objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee the company's finance and administration functions, including budgeting, financial planning, policy implementation, strategic planning, human resource administration, performance management, and departmental coordination to support business objectives.
  • Manage the preparation and review of financial statements, management accounts, budgets, cash flow forecasts, payments, financial records, and month-end and year-end reporting while ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with accounting standards.
  • Establish and maintain effective internal financial controls by monitoring expenditures, reconciling bank accounts and ledgers, overseeing payroll processing, statutory deductions, fixed assets, and ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable operations by supervising invoicing, collections, supplier payments, vendor relationships, contract profitability, debt management, financial reconciliations, and process improvements through accounting systems.
  • Ensure compliance with all tax and statutory obligations by managing VAT, PAYE, SDL, income tax returns, business licenses, tax planning, audits, and other regulatory reporting requirements while providing financial and tax advisory support to management.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the Finance and Administration team while supporting business development initiatives, resource mobilization, client financial reporting, and deputizing the Managing Director when required to ensure operational continuity.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or Advanced Diploma in Accountancy, Finance, or a related field.
  • CPA (T), ACCA, or equivalent professional accounting qualification with active NBAA registration.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in a finance management or similar leadership role, preferably within the trading industry.
  • Strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, payroll, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, taxation, statutory compliance, and internal financial controls.
  • Proficiency in accounting software such as Tally or other ERP/accounting systems, with strong analytical, organizational, and financial management skills.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, stakeholder management, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with a high level of integrity, professionalism, and attention to detail.
