Descriptions
The Finance Manager is responsible for establishing, enforcing, and sustaining financial control, visibility, and discipline.
The role exists to protect shareholder capital, eliminate financial opacity and cost leakage, provide decision-grade financial intelligence, and support operational efficiency and disciplined growth.
This is a control, governance, and leadership role, not a bookkeeping or clerical position.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
- CPA / ACCA strongly preferred
- 7–10 years progressive finance experience
- Agribusiness or asset-intensive experience preferred
- Proven experience building finance systems

- Implement and manage an integrated accounting and financial reporting system
- Act as the financial gatekeeper for all expenditures, payments, and commitments
- Prevent fraud, misuse of funds, uncontrolled spending, and financial leakage
- Maintain accurate records of assets, liabilities, inventory valuation, and capital expenditure
- Produce monthly management accounts (Profit & Loss, Cash Flow, Balance Sheet)
- Design and implement cost centers aligned to farm operations
- Develop financial dashboards and reports for shareholder and management use
- Lead monthly financial performance reviews and variance analysis
- Establish and update cost of production (milk, beef, feed)
- Conduct profitability and margin analysis by business unit
- Identify cost reduction and efficiency improvement opportunities
- Support pricing and production optimization decisions
- Manage daily, weekly, and monthly cashflow planning
- Control receivables, payables, and supplier payment cycles
- Ensure liquidity discipline and prevent cash stress
- Support banking relationships and financing discussions
- Lead annual budgeting and rolling forecast processes
- Monitor budget versus actual performance and explain variances
- Support capital investment planning and ROI analysis
- Provide financial input to the Investment Planning Committee (IPC)
- Ensure compliance with tax, statutory, and regulatory requirements
- Prepare for and coordinate internal and external audits
- Liaise with auditors, banks, regulators, and advisors
- Maintain audit-ready financial records
- Act as strategic financial advisor to the Shareholder and senior management
- Challenge assumptions using financial data
