Archbishop Mihayo University College of Tabora (AMUCTA), a constituent college of St. Augustine University of Tanzania, invites applications from suitably qualified and competent Tanzanians for the position of Electrician.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Installing, maintaining and repairing electrical systems, wiring, fittings and equipment.
• Conducting routine inspections of electrical installations and identifying faults.
• Diagnosing and repairing electrical faults in buildings, offices, classrooms, laboratories and other facilities.
• Installing and maintaining lighting systems, sockets, switches, distribution boards and related electrical equipment.
• Carrying out preventive maintenance of electrical installations and equipment.
• Responding to electrical emergencies and breakdowns and undertaking necessary repairs.
• Ensuring electrical installations comply with applicable safety standards and requirements.
• Maintaining records of electrical maintenance, repairs and materials used.
• Assisting with electrical installation works during construction, renovation and expansion projects.
• Advising the supervisor on electrical faults, maintenance requirements and materials needed.
• Ensuring proper use and safe handling of electrical tools and equipment.
• Performing any other duties related to electrical works as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications and Experience

• Certificate in Electrical Installation, Electrical Engineering or a related field from a recognized institution.
• Relevant practical skills in electrical installation, maintenance and repair.
• Registration or licensing with the relevant authority is an added advantage, where applicable.
• Relevant working experience as an electrician is an added advantage.
• Knowledge of electrical safety procedures and occupational health and safety requirements.
• Physical ability to perform electrical maintenance and installation duties.
• Good problem-solving and teamwork skills.
