Background

The Medical Officer In-Charge of the Regional Referral Hospital, Bukoba, invites qualified Tanzanians to apply for the following volunteer positions.

Qualifications

Should have Form IV or VI education and a Degree in Medicine from a government-recognized college.

Should have a license/be registered with the Tanzania Medical Council.

Responsibilities

To perform all medical duties in the hospital related to various diseases including children's diseases, maternal diseases and normal and emergency surgery.

To provide health education and improve health for patients and relatives.

To investigate, monitor and prevent disease outbreaks.

To keep statistics and use them as directed in the MTUHA system.

To plan and evaluate health services in his/her work area.

To design and conduct research and disseminate results.

To participate, review and improve health services (medical audit and quality improvement).

To perform other duties assigned by his/her superior related to his/her education, experience and skills.

Other Details

Employment is voluntary for a period of one year.

After the one-year period ends, a volunteer youth who has demonstrated efficiency in performance may have their contract renewed.

Things to consider for applicants

Must be the rightful owner of academic certificates.

Must have two referees who are public servants.

Must be ready to volunteer in the relevant area.

Must not have been convicted by a Court for criminal or disciplinary offenses.

Must have good conduct and behavior acceptable to society, and

Must not have been employed in any Public Institution since completing studies.
