The Data Privacy and Compliance Officer will be responsible for establishing, implementing, and maintaining the organization’s data protection and regulatory compliance framework and ensure personal data is handled in line with applicable laws and foster a culture of ethical conduct.

Responsibilities

• Framework Management: Develop, implement, and update data protection policies and frameworks.
• Records of Processing: Maintain and update the Data Processing Register and Records of Processing Activities.
• Risk Mitigation: Perform Data Protection Impact Assessments and advise on mitigation strategies.
• Incident Oversight: Manage data breach processes, including investigation, documentation, and reporting.
• Compliance Monitoring: Conduct regular audits and monitor adherence to data retention and consent processes.
• Third-Party Assurance: Review contracts and vendor agreements for data sharing compliance.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, IT, Law, or Risk Management.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in information security, data protection, or compliance.
• Certifications such as CIPP/E, CIPM, CISA, or CRISC are an added advantage.
• Ability to translate legal requirements into operational processes.
• High level of professional discretion and confidentiality.
