Background

The Civil Engineer will be responsible for planning, supervising, monitoring, and supporting civil infrastructure works required for the development and operation of the agribusiness estate. The role will cover roads, drainage, earthworks, concrete works, water infrastructure, and other associated civil-development activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, supervise, and monitor civil construction and infrastructure-development activities across the estate.
  • Oversee construction and maintenance of access roads, drainage systems, earthworks, concrete structures, and related infrastructure.
  • Review drawings, specifications, quantities, and technical requirements before and during construction.
  • Coordinate contractors, equipment operators, surveyors, technicians, and field personnel during civil works.
  • Monitor workmanship, materials, progress, and compliance with approved engineering standards.
  • Prepare quantity estimates, materials requirements, work schedules, and progress reports.
  • Identify technical or construction issues and recommend appropriate corrective measures.
  • Ensure civil works comply with occupational health, safety, environmental, and project-quality requirements.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related engineering discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant civil engineering experience, preferably involving infrastructure, roads, drainage, earthworks, agricultural estates, or construction projects.
  • Strong knowledge of civil construction methods, earthworks, drainage, roads, and concrete works.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, quantities, levels, and survey information.
  • Good knowledge of project planning, quantity estimation, quality control, and construction supervision.
  • Proficiency in relevant engineering and computer applications.
  • Strong technical problem-solving, reporting, communication, and coordination skills.
  • Experience in large-scale agricultural estate or infrastructure-development projects will be an added advantage.
