The CW Engineer / Construction Works Specialist is responsible for managing and coordinating telecom site construction activities to ensure all construction works are executed in accordance with project plans, approved designs, contractual obligations, customer requirements, local regulations, and Nokia standards. The role ensures construction activities are delivered within agreed timelines, budget, and quality expectations.
Responsibilities
The Construction Works Specialist ensures construction works and site design activities meet project requirements and are in scope of contractual obligations, timeline, and required quality.
- Creates and updates the construction works rollout schedule by providing the required inputs for a realistic timeline.
- Contributes to the development of the construction project plan with the Team
- Manages and coordinates the construction works activities according to project plan, quality, costs and deployment processes.
- Ensures that detailed site construction design respects all requirements including local standards and regulations.
- Ensures construction works is performed according to detailed design, customer guidelines and Nokia standards.
- Ensures all issues are solved and escalates the deviations when necessary.
- Conducts site visits and site construction acceptance with suppliers and with customer when required, and manages clearance of site construction defects with suppliers.
- Validates and ensures as-built documentation accuracy and availability.
- Ensures that deployment management relies on fact-based and verified schedules and forecasts.
- Collects actual services delivery performance information and determine the causes to any perceived deviation.
- Collects information to provide latest estimates to completion.
- Organises training and provide support to the local construction suppliers as required.
- Monitors and controls services delivery against quality processes and operational KPIs.
- Follows up service supplier performance
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Construction Management, or related field with 3–6 years of experience in telecom construction works or site build projects.
- Proven experience in managing telecom site construction activities, ensuring compliance with project scope, contractual obligations, timelines, and quality standards.
- Strong ability to develop and update construction rollout schedules, ensuring realistic planning and alignment with project execution requirements.
- Experience in contributing to and executing construction project plans, coordinating activities across design, rollout, and subcontractor teams.
- Strong knowledge of site construction standards, local regulations, and Nokia construction guidelines, ensuring all works comply with approved designs.
- Experience supervising and ensuring construction works are executed according to detailed site designs, customer specifications, and quality requirements.
- Ability to conduct site visits, construction inspections, and acceptance activities with suppliers and customers, ensuring proper defect identification and resolution
