Job Description:

Department: Agriculture

Reports To: General Manager

Job Summary:

The Bush Clearing / Land Development Supervisor will be responsible for supervising and coordinating bush clearing, land preparation, earthmoving, and related land-development activities across the agricultural estate. The role will ensure land is developed safely, efficiently, and according to approved operational plans and project requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and supervise daily bush-clearing, land-development, and site-preparation activities.
  • Coordinate heavy-equipment operators, assistants, field workers, and other personnel involved in land development.
  • Monitor clearing, grading, earthmoving, and preparation of land according to approved work plans.
  • Coordinate deployment and utilization of bulldozers, excavators, graders, loaders, and other equipment.
  • Monitor daily productivity, completed acreage, equipment utilization, and operational progress.
  • Identify field constraints and coordinate corrective actions to minimize operational delays.
  • Maintain daily land-development records and prepare progress reports for management.
  • Ensure all activities comply with workplace health, safety, environmental, and estate operating requirements.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Agriculture, Agricultural Engineering, Civil Engineering, Land Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in land development, bush clearing, earthworks, agriculture, or construction, including supervisory experience.
  • Good understanding of large-scale land clearing, earthmoving, site preparation, and agricultural land development.
  • Practical knowledge of heavy-equipment deployment and productivity monitoring.
  • Strong workforce supervision, planning, coordination, and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to maintain accurate operational records and prepare progress reports.
  • Good understanding of occupational health, safety, and environmental requirements.
  • Experience supervising large-scale agricultural land-development projects will be an added advantage.
