Role purpose

The Building & Utilities Manager will be responsible for overseeing maintenance activities within the buildings and utilities area. This includes planning, scheduling, spare parts management, and maintenance programmes.

The role also ensures that plant utilities, facilities, and workshops operate efficiently and reliably. In addition, the position provides technical support to production and serves as the main contact point for factory technical issues.

Key responsibilities

The Building & Utilities Manager will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Manage the activities of Technical Services and provide coaching to improve team performance and ensure team succession.
  • Ensure the optimum functioning of plant buildings and utilities.
  • Monitor and analyze production equipment performance to identify areas for improvement and support project teams.
  • Demonstrate leadership and commitment to the Quality Management System (QMS) and Contamination Prevention (CP) programme.
  • Take accountability for promoting awareness, compliance, and effective implementation of the QMS and CP programme within the section.
  • Initiate and support the execution of plant-wide energy-saving programmes.
  • Minimize environmental impacts on land, air, and water.
  • Manage buildings and utilities-related contracts, contractors, and manpower.
  • Plan related duties and propose training requirements where applicable to improve team performance.
  • Ensure that all maintenance programmes for buildings and utilities are followed and implemented according to plan.
  • Maximize efficiency, reduce costs, and protect company assets.
  • Oversee the operation of the factory workshop for repair and manufacturing services, ensuring optimum quality, shortest turnaround time, and optimum cost.
  • Ensure appropriate control measures are known and implemented to maintain a healthy and safe workplace for employees within the department.
  • Identify and implement global initiatives and best practices to ensure performance improvement and consistency.

Required qualifications and experience

Applicants should have the following qualifications and experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
  • 2 to 3 years of experience in field maintenance, workshops, spare parts, utilities, and machinery resources.
  • Good English language skills.
  • Good computer skills.
