Job Summary:
The Auto Electrician will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining electrical and electronic systems on tractors, vehicles, agricultural machinery, and heavy equipment. The role will help minimize equipment downtime by ensuring electrical systems remain safe, reliable, and fully operational.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and repair electrical faults on tractors, vehicles, and heavy machinery.
- Inspect and maintain starting, charging, lighting, wiring, and electrical control systems.
- Repair or replace alternators, starter motors, batteries, wiring harnesses, switches, relays, sensors, and related components.
- Use diagnostic tools and electrical testing equipment to identify faults accurately.
- Carry out preventive electrical inspections and maintenance on workshop equipment and machinery.
- Support mechanics in diagnosing combined electrical and mechanical equipment faults.
- Maintain records of electrical repairs, components replaced, and maintenance performed.
- Ensure safe handling of batteries, electrical systems, tools, and workshop equipment.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Certificate or Diploma in Auto Electrical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in auto-electrical maintenance and repair, preferably involving tractors, heavy machinery, or agricultural equipment.
- Strong knowledge of vehicle and heavy-equipment electrical systems, including starting and charging systems.
- Practical experience in electrical fault diagnosis, wiring repairs, batteries, alternators, starter motors, sensors, and control systems.
- Ability to use multimeters, diagnostic equipment, and other electrical testing tools.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical wiring diagrams and technical manuals.
- Strong troubleshooting, attention to detail, and workplace safety skills.
- Experience in agricultural, construction, automotive, or heavy-equipment operations will be an added advantage.
