Job Summary:

The Assistant Stores Officer will support the receiving, inspection, storage, issuance, and control of materials, supplies, equipment, and inventory required for estate operations. The role will help maintain accurate stock records and ensure materials are safely stored and available when required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Receive, inspect, verify, and record incoming materials, supplies, equipment, and other inventory items.
  • Issue materials and supplies against properly approved requests and maintain accurate issuance records.
  • Maintain updated stock cards, inventory registers, and electronic stock records.
  • Organize materials within stores to ensure proper identification, storage, security, and accessibility.
  • Conduct regular physical stock counts and assist with reconciliation of stock against inventory records.
  • Monitor stock levels and report shortages, damaged items, slow-moving stock, or replenishment requirements.
  • Maintain documentation for goods received, goods issued, transfers, returns, and other inventory movements.
  • Ensure stores comply with housekeeping, security, occupational health and safety, and inventory-control procedures.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Procurement and Supplies Management, Logistics, Materials Management, Stores Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in stores, inventory management, procurement support, warehousing, or logistics.
  • Good understanding of receiving, storage, issuing, stocktaking, and inventory-control procedures.
  • Good computer skills, particularly Microsoft Excel and inventory-management systems.
  • Strong numerical, documentation, record-keeping, and organizational skills.
  • High level of accuracy, integrity, accountability, and attention to detail.
  • Good communication and ability to coordinate with procurement, workshop, agriculture, and other operational teams.
  • Experience in agriculture, construction, industrial, or project-based stores operations will be an added advantage.
