Job Summary:

The Assistant Accountant will support day-to-day accounting, financial-record management, reconciliations, payment processing, and preparation of financial information for the agribusiness estate. The role will help maintain accurate financial records and ensure transactions are properly documented and processed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Record and maintain accurate day-to-day financial transactions and supporting documentation.
  • Assist with preparation and processing of payments, receipts, invoices, and expense documentation.
  • Perform bank, cash, supplier, and other account reconciliations as assigned.
  • Maintain organized accounting records, vouchers, invoices, and financial files.
  • Assist with preparation of monthly financial reports, schedules, and account summaries.
  • Support management of petty cash and ensure transactions are properly authorized and documented.
  • Assist with tracking supplier balances, outstanding payments, and other financial obligations.
  • Support internal controls, audits, budgeting, and other finance activities as required.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, Business Administration with Accounting, or a related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant accounting or finance experience, preferably in agriculture, construction, manufacturing, or project operations.
  • Good understanding of basic accounting principles, reconciliations, payments, and financial documentation.
  • Good computer skills, particularly Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
  • Strong numerical, analytical, record-keeping, and attention-to-detail skills.
  • Ability to maintain accurate and confidential financial records.
  • High level of integrity, accountability, organization, and time management.
  • Experience working in a project-based or operational business environment will be an added advantage.
