TPC Ltd is one of the respected sugar producing companies in Tanzania. The company is situated at the foot of Mount Kilimanjaro, 22kms south of Moshi Municipality. Applications are invited from qualified, energetic, proactive, and dynamic Tanzanians to fill the following vacant position.

Job Summary Statement

Welder is responsible for performing welding, fabrication, and repair works on boiler systems and related components to ensure safe and efficient operation.

Key Performance Areas (Duties & Responsibilities)

  • Fabricate and manufacture metal components in preparation for assembly according to required specifications.
  • Interpret and follow technical drawings and blueprints to ensure accurate production and compliance with design standards.
  • Produce high quality, strong, and clean welds in accordance with welding procedures and safety standards.
  • Perform piping layout, measurement, and alignment to ensure proper installation.
  • Dismantle, modify, and repair existing units and equipment as required.
  • Provide technical support to the production process by designing, fabricating, and maintaining various fixtures and tools.
  • Conducting maintenance and inspections.
  • Ensuring all welding activities comply with safety standards and company procedures.
  • Perform any other related duties as may be assigned by his or her Superior.

Academic Qualifications

Ordinary level Secondary school with Level Three CBET or Grade One from VETA. A combination of relevant academic qualifications and 3 years experience in the related field.

Work Experience

  • Welding Prior experience, preferably in a manufacturing industry.
  • Knowledge of common welding tools and procedures, including MIG welding TIG welding, metal fabricating, grinding, and finishing metals.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Ability to use lift heavy equipment like chain blocks, chain puller etc.
  • Engineering drawings reading and knowledge of common welding symbols.
  • Outstanding attention to detail and observation ability
  • Good verbal and written communication skills i.e. English and Swahili.

Behavioural Competencies

  • Being reliable and possess a good work ethic
  • Self motivated and able to use initiative in prioritizing tasks.
  • Alignment to TPC Core Values.
