Purpose of the Role

The Treasury Dealer will play a pivotal role in driving the Banks foreign exchange (FX), liquidity, and investment strategies. The successful candidate will actively manage trading positions, optimize funding and investment returns, deepen interbank and institutional relationships, and contribute directly to Treasury revenue growth in line with approved risk appetite and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities or duties

Summary of Key Duties and Responsibilities

Forex & Trading

• Actively manage the Banks daily FX Net Open Position within regulatory and internal limits.
• Drive growth of the Banks forex income through proactive client engagement and competitive pricing strategies.
• Develop and manage strong relationships with institutional and corporate FX clients.
• Promote and expand interbank forex trading activities.
• Identify and capitalize on profitable trading opportunities in money and capital markets.

Liquidity & Funding Management

• Optimize interbank borrowing and lending positions.
• Monitor daily liquidity and funding gaps.
• Prepare and analyze daily and monthly liquidity reports.
• Quote deposit and borrowing rates to institutional clients.

Investment & Portfolio Management

• Manage investments in Government Securities (Treasury Bills and Bonds).
• Conduct market and fundamental analysis to assess issuer risk and relative value.
• Maintain and monitor the Banks investment portfolio accounting system.
• Maximize returns on excess liquidity while preserving capital and regulatory compliance

Reporting & Governance

• Prepare and present Treasury reports including:
  • Market analysis
  • Cash flow forecasts
  • Liquidity analysis
  • ALCO papers and presentations
• Ensure full compliance with internal policies, BOT regulations, and risk limits.
• Contribute to development and implementation of new treasury products and strategies.

Vendor & Partner Coordination

• Assist in evaluating vendors and monitoring third-party performance against SLAs.
• Coordinate procurement documentation for project-related purchases.

Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills)

Required Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Banking and Finance, or any other relevant fields.
• ACI dealing Certification.
• Knowledge and experience of treasury management including managing complex loan portfolios, derivative arrangements, liquidity and cash flow forecasting and techniques for analysis of funding and hedging.
