JOB DETAILS:

Background

ITM Tanzania is seeking a Tractor Junior Mechanic to join their Workshop / Maintenance department. This role reports to the Senior Mechanic / Workshop Supervisor.

Job Purpose:

Assist in servicing, repairing, and maintaining tractors under the guidance of senior mechanics.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in routine services: oil changes, filter replacement, greasing, and adjustments.
• Support senior mechanics in engine, transmission, and hydraulic repairs.
• Clean and maintain tools, equipment, and work areas.
• Carry out minor repairs and report faults beyond their skill level.
• Retrieve and return spare parts from the store.
• Observe and learn diagnostic and repair techniques.
• Adhere to all safety procedures.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Certificate in Automotive Mechanics / Mechanical Engineering (craft level).
• 1–3 years' experience in tractor or vehicle maintenance.

Skills & Competencies:

• Basic mechanical aptitude
• Willingness to learn
• Physical stamina
• Teamwork

Work Hours: 8
