Mkulazi Holding Company Limited (MHCL) is inviting qualified Tanzanians to apply for the position of Technician – Preventive Maintenance. The successful candidate will report to the Planning Engineer and will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and supporting preventive maintenance activities to ensure reliable operation of equipment and facilities across the plant.
The role requires strong experience in maintenance planning, coordination of resources, and use of maintenance management systems to ensure efficient scheduling, execution, and documentation of maintenance activities. The selected candidate will work closely with maintenance teams, engineers, operations staff, and suppliers to minimize downtime and improve equipment reliability.
Responsibilities or duties
- Developing and implementing maintenance schedules for equipment and facilities
- Prioritizing maintenance tasks based on urgency, workload, and resource availability
- Coordinating with maintenance technicians, engineers, and operations teams
- Liaising with vendors and suppliers for spare parts and tools procurement
- Estimating time, labor, and cost requirements for maintenance activities
- Tracking and managing spare parts inventory to avoid operational delays
- Using CMMS systems such as ERP or Maximo to record and track work orders
- Preparing reports on maintenance activities, costs, and performance indicators
- Inspecting facilities to identify hazards and ensuring enforcement of safety protocols
- Ensuring compliance with industry standards, regulations, and best practices
- Performing any other lawful duties assigned by the supervisor
Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills)
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related technical field from a recognized institution
- Proficiency in CMMS systems such as SAP Plant Maintenance, Maximo, or similar platforms
- Strong knowledge of maintenance planning, scheduling, and inventory control
- Good analytical, coordination, and reporting skills
- Strong understanding of occupational health and safety standards
- Proficiency in MS Office applications
Experience needed
- Minimum of six (6) years working experience in maintenance planning roles
- Experience in manufacturing or large-scale agricultural production environments
