The WISH Dividend Policy and Systems (P&S) support an African-led, inclusive accelerated Demographic Transition (DT) and advance sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) through Technical Assistance (TA) activities in 7 countries in Sub Saharan Africa. WISH Dividend P&S is a component of the wider WISH 2 Dividend, a significant investment from the British Government in DT and SRHR to unlock the potential, agency, and freedom of women and girls to achieve gender equality and is central to delivering the UK’s priorities on Empowering Women and Girls set out in the International Development Strategy. Through WISH P&S, Palladium will improve national capacity to catalyse an accelerated inclusive demographic transition and an improved enabling policy and health systems environment for SRHR.

The Health Experts will be Expected to:

  • Generate locally relevant cost-benefit analyses to support advocacy for increased domestic financing for family planning
  • Strengthen the capacity of CSOs, MPs, media, and MOH officials to use evidence for policy and budget advocacy
  • Facilitate multi-stakeholder dialogues to drive future investments in Family Planning
  • Co-develop a Total Market Approach strategy for Sexual Reproductive Health.
  • Conduct assessments to address barriers to implementing Demographic Dividend recommendations.
  • Finalize an inclusive Demographic Dividend roadmap aligned with Tanzania’s Development Vision 2050
  • Support strategic, coordinated SRHR advocacy through stakeholder mapping and consensus-building forums

We are therefore looking for experts with demonstrated thematic expertise on one or more of the following areas:

  • Sustainable health systems
  • Health Policy
  • SRHR
  • Health Financing
  • Demography
  • Private Sector Engagement
  • Data for Decision Making

Minimum Experience Required

  • Thorough theoretical knowledge of the subject area with proven ability to translate theory into practice.
  • A minimum of 5 years professional experience relevant to the field.
  • Proven capability to provide quality assurance of the work of others.
  • A master’s degree in the relevant field is desirable.
  • Have recognized, independently verified qualifications i.e., through professional body membership.
