Job Summary
CNS Group is seeking a meticulous and highly organised Store Supervisor for a large scale sugarcane estate development project in Morogoro. The role is responsible for managing the receipt, safe custody, accurate issuance, and stock control of all materials, spare parts, tools, chemicals, and consumables across the project site, ensuring stock integrity, proper documentation, and timely availability of all required materials. The ideal candidate should possess strong inventory management skills, a high level of integrity, and practical experience in stores operations within an agribusiness, construction, or manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive all incoming goods, verifying quantity and condition against Local Purchase Orders and delivery notes, and completing Goods Received Notes accurately for all incoming stock items.
- Store and arrange spare parts, agri-chemicals, fertilizers, tools, and PPE items properly within the store, ensuring all items are correctly labelled, coded, and arranged in accordance with FIFO principles.
- Issue materials strictly against authorised Material Requisition Notes only, ensuring no stock is released without proper documentation and approval from the relevant supervisor or manager.
- Maintain bin cards, stock ledgers, and spreadsheet inventory records accurately, ensuring all stock movements are recorded in real time and fully traceable at all times.
- Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly stock counts, reconciling physical counts against records and reporting any discrepancies, shortages, or damaged items to the Land Development Manager promptly.
- Identify and report slow-moving, obsolete, damaged, or near-expiry stock items, recommending appropriate action to management to minimise wastage and financial losses.
- Ensure all hazardous materials including agri-chemicals and fertilizers are stored safely with proper Material Safety Data Sheet documentation and in compliance with applicable safety regulations.
- Coordinate with the procurement team for timely re-ordering of materials at minimum reorder levels, ensuring uninterrupted availability of all critical spares and consumables across the project site.
- Control store access, secure all high-value items, and submit accurate daily and weekly stock movement reports to the Land Development Manager within required timelines.
- Liaise with the Fuel Supervisor for fuel consumables and with field supervisors to anticipate material requirements, ensuring proactive stock management and minimal operational disruptions.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Certificate in Stores Management, Supply Chain, or Materials Management is preferred. A Diploma is an added advantage.
- Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience as a Storekeeper in an agribusiness, construction, or manufacturing environment is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of inventory management principles including FIFO and reorder level systems is preferred.
- Proficiency in MS Excel for stock records, inventory tracking, and reporting is recommended.
- Ability to correctly identify spare parts, tools, and agricultural inputs is recommended.
- Knowledge of chemical safety and hazardous material storage procedures is recommended.
- High level of integrity and accuracy in all stock management and documentation activities is recommended.
- Experience with spare parts and agri-chemicals in an estate setting is an added advantage.
- Familiarity with ERP systems such as SAP, Sage, or similar platforms is an added advantage.
