Reporting To: Principal Investigator

Duty Station: NIMR Mwanza Centre (with regular visits to study sites)

Duties and Responsibilities

• To conduct cardiovascular measurements, including but not limited to: pulse-wave velocity, electrocardiogram, and echocardiogram.
• To regularly review and follow all standard operating procedures of the study, particularly those for all cardiovascular measurements.
• To perform verbal interviews, including completing electronic case report forms.
• To perform medical examinations and investigations where necessary.
• To facilitate clinical care for study participants.
• To assist in participant tracing as needed, including phone calls and tracking of missing participants where necessary.
• To participate in meetings and discussions regarding research progress and any other aspects of the study.
• To perform any other job-related duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.

Qualification and Competence

• A diploma holder in diagnostic radiology and must be registered.
• At least three years’ relevant experience performing echocardiography and working in a research project involving human subjects.
• Excellent inter-personal skills and willingness to work as a team.
• Certified in Good Clinical Practice (GCP) for the conduct of human research.
